Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741)
This is an easy arrangement of Vivaldi's famous composition. I choose to arrange for guitar a few measures that include the well-known melody. The original work was composed for strings. I have included a video lesson that shows you how to play this piece. The lesson includes pdf files of the arrangement on music notation alone or music notation/tablature. You can download both files or have them displayed on your computer screen while watching the video. ROMANCE ANONIMO (ROMANZA)
Anonymous composition
This is perhaps one of the most well-known pieces ever written for classical guitar. The composer is unknown. Everyone who learns to play classical guitar will, sooner or later, incorporate this composition to the pieces to be learned. It is a crowd pleaser. Technically speaking it is not a difficult piece. It is not a total beginner’s piece either, but if you already know how to play the basics such as a few chord positions and specially barre chords, it will not be too hard to learn it. It makes use of arpeggios and incorporates a technique for the right hand called “Apoyando or Rest stroke”. It is a technique frequently used in classical guitar playing where the ring finger of the right hand highlights the melody. When properly used, it creates the illusion that there is more than one guitar playing.

CLASSICAL GAS
Mason Williams (b. Texas 1938)
In this video my student Adrian Ariza plays the composition for guitar titled "Classical Gas". This piece was written in the sixties by guitarist Mason Williams. His recording reached the number 1 position on the Billboard Charts on August 17, 1968 and stayed there for 17 weeks. The composition won three Grammy Awards in 1969. It is not easy piece to play. On the video I am working with Adrian some of the parts that are more troublesome.
VALS
Jose Ferrer (Spain.1835-1916)
Spanish guitarist Jose Ferrer wrote many pieces for guitar among them this Vals. It is not a difficult piece to play but it does required a good coordination with both hands in order for the music to flow. On this video I am with my student David Berezin trying to sort out the technical difficulties that the piece entrails.
